Welcome to Bright Star's "Holiday Stars" Teddy Bear Artist Online Show!

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this special event just to meet you! I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999. My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur. They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren. You might also find a few mohair and faux fur creations which have been added to the den.

I have been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including on the cover) Teddy Bear and Friends, Teddy Bear Times, and most recently the March 2022 issue of Teddy Bear Times and Friends magazines. Severa1 of my bears have been the proud winners of the URSA Awards in 2016 and 2020.

"BIANCA"

"Bianca" is 18" tall and was created from a recycled white curly lamb fur coat. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has tan suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered dark green Perle cotton nose.

"Bianca" is wearing a festive red plaid snowflake ribbon tied in a bow around her neck and a red knit Santa hat.

"Bianca" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"SNOW-BEAR"

"Snow-Bear" is not a snow-man, but a snow-bear! He is 8" tall and was created from a recycled mink fur coat. He has black shoebutton eyes, and a hand-embroidered black Perle cotton nose. His head and arms are jointed. He is weighted and stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Snow-Bear" wears a plaid flannel scarf around his neck and some holly on his head. He sits on a cotton fabric pillow that features scenes of the Campbell Soup Kids playing in the snow. He brings his skis, hoping there will be snow soon.

"Snow-Bear" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"SOUTHERN SANTA"

"Southern Santa" is 15" tall and was created from a recycled autumn haze mink fur coat. His beard is white Mongolian lamb fur. He has tan suede paw pads, dark glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose. He is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Southern Santa" loves visiting Florida because he can get away from all the cold and snow at the North Pole and relax on the beach for a while before the big holiday! He wears a handmade cotton flamingo shirt so he blends in with the native Floridians. He brings a special gift with him, a pink fuzzy flamingo that reminds him of a tropical paradise. The flamingo is NOT artist-made and stands about 5" high.

"Southern Santa" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"OLIVER the Lion"

"Oliver" is a one-of-a-kind lion created from a recycled light brown sheared mink fur coat. He is 12" high when seated and about 16" tall if he were standing. He has a light mint green Mongolian lamb fur mane and tail tip. He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has tan suede paw and foot pads, imported glass starburst eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

If you look closely, you can even see a few of Oliver's horsehair whiskers. He comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"WILEY"

"Wiley" is 20" tall and was created from a recycled coyote fur coat. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Wiley" is wearing an brown & tan ribbon around his neck and brings some colorful leaves and pumpkins with him.

"Wiley" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"OKTOBERFEST"

"Oktoberfest" is a one-of-a-kind, 18" tall bear, created from a recycled fur coat. The color of the fur is a grayish-brown. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Oktoberfest" is wearing a green felt alpine hat and a vintage bowtie around his neck. In the true spirit of Octoberfest, he carries a German beer stein.

"Oktoberfest" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"JINGLES"

"Jingles" is a one-of-a-kind, 11" tall mohair bear. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has red suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered gray Perle cotton nose.

"Jingles" is wearing a red plaid ribbon tied in a bow around his neck. He will bring some festive jingle bells with him for you to use in your holiday displays.

"ACORN"

"Acorn" is 15" tall and was created from a brown curly lamb fur coat. The inset and inner ears are a contrasting light tan curly mohair fabric. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has dark brown suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Acorn" is wearing a multi-textured ribbon trim around his neck and carries a large acorn with him.

"Acorn" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"ATHENA"

"Athena" is approximately 18" tall because of her long legs, but she sits 12" high. She was created from a vintage animal print velvet-like fabric. She is one-of-a-kind. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has tan suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered black Perle cotton nose.

"Athena" is wearing black ostrich feathers around her neck, and a handmade black velvet brimmed hat tied with a black ribbon around her neck.

"Athena" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.
