Welcome to Bright Star's "Summer Sizzler" Teddy Bear Artist Online Show!

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this special event just to meet you! I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999. My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur. They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren. You might also find a few mohair and faux fur creations which have been added to the den.

I have been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including on the cover) Teddy Bear and Friends, Teddy Bear Times, and most recently the March 2022 issue of Teddy Bear Times and Friends magazines. Severa1 of my bears have been the proud winners of the URSA Awards in 2016 and 2020.

"COURAGE"

Did you know that a blue lion embodies courage in the face of adversity and the unknown?

"Courage" is a one-of-a-kind 14" tall lion, created from ocean blue mohair with dyed Mongolian lamb fur for the mane to match. The Mongolian lamb fur has specks of red and black toward the curly tips throughout, creating a very unique look. He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has dark glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose. He also has a few horsehair whiskers.

"Courage" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"HIPPITY HOP"

"Hippity Hop" is a 14" lop-eared bunny, created from creamy-white curly matted German viscose that has faint pink-ish splotches throughout. She is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has blue tinted glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered pink Perle cotton nose. Her paw pads and inner ears are a flowery cotton fabric. She has a few horsehair whiskers, and a cute bunny tail of course! She wears a hand-dyed silk ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"Hippity Hop" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"PANSY"

"Pansy" is a one-of-a-kind 11" bear created from a recycled dyed rabbit fur jacket. The fur is purple and the white fur inset on her face is also recycled rabbit fur from another jacket. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has cotton fabric paw pads, mauve glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose.

"Pansy" is wearing a handmade flowery cotton print hat with a lavender organza ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"CHECKERS"

"Checkers" is a one-of-a-kind 16" bear created from a recycled Norwegian Blue Fox fur jacket. These fox fur coats are some of the most expensive fur coats and this one was quite unique. The fur was cut in squares, and then alternated with leather squares, to create a subtle checkerboard effect.

"Checkers" is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has dark brown suede paw pads, glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose. She wears only a ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"Checkers" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"MISTY"

"Misty" is a one-of-a-kind 15" panda bear created from two VERY SOFT sheared beaver fur coats, one a milk chocolate color and the other a French vanilla cream color. She is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Misty" wears a Chinese coin around her neck and carries some bamboo leaves for snacking. She also brings a vintage wooden abacus with her in case you need to track your expenses or count the bears in your den!

"SADIE"

"Sadie" is a one-of-a-kind 18" bear created from a recycled curly lamb fur jacket. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has matching suede paw pads, hazel glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose.

"BENNY the Cat"

"Benny" is a 14" cat who looks like he might be part Bengal. He was created from a sculpted cat print faux fur fabric. He has tan suede paw pads and inner ears. He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has cat-like glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose. He also has a few horsehair whiskers.

"Benny" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag. He has a bell around his neck so you always know where he is.

"MURRAY the Mouse"

"Murray" is a 13" mouse created from a recycled silvery-gray mink fur coat. He has pink suede paw pads, vintage black shoebutton eyes, and a hand-embroidered pink Perle cotton nose. The insides of his big mouse ears are also pink suede. His long mouse tail is pink suede. He even has a few very long horsehair whiskers.

"Murray" is wearing a rose-colored silk crushed velvet bow around his neck.

"TEX"

"Tex" is 15" tall and was created from blue denim fabric. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has reverse denim fabric paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered navy blue Perle cotton nose.

"Tex" is wearing a red print cotton neckerchief tied around his neck, his cowboy hat and lasso. He brings his favorite wooden horse that stands on a wheeled platform.

"Tex" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.
