Heir Bears by Jane Woodard

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this event just to meet you!  Some of them will be dressed up in their favorite outfit, and some of them will just be themselves, with no frills, but ready to enjoy the party.

About the Artist:  I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999.  My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur.  They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren.  Recently I have added some faux fur and mohair bears to the den and they are all getting along just fine!

My bears have been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including on the cover), Teddy Bear and Friends, and the latest issue of Teddy Bear Times magazines.  One of my bears is also the proud winner of a 2016 URSA award.

"OCTOBERFEST OSKAR"

"Oskar" is a 20" coyote fur bear who loves celebrating the month of October because he believes he has German ancesters who owned a beer garden!  So you always see him carrying his beer stein ... I'm not sure if it is full or empty right now!

"Oskar" was created from a beautiful coyote fur coat.  His colors are mostly pale golds, beiges and grays with a few streaks of black.  His paw pads are suede and he has a hand-embroidered light brown Perle cotton nose.  His imported German glass eyes are dark brown.  He is fully jointed and stuffed with lots and lots of polyester fiberfill.

"Oskar" wears a green felt Bavarian style hat with some sporty feathers on it.  And of course he will bring his beer stein, hoping you will fill it when he arrives!  He comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

Adoption Fee:  $495.00 plus shipping

"BIANCA"

"Bianca" is 18" tall and was created from a recycled white curly lamb fur coat.  She never has a bad hair day because her fur is ALWAYS curly.

"Bianca" is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  She has light beige suede paw pads, imported dark olive glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Bianca" wears a textured olive green and gold ribbon tied in a large bow around her neck.  She comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"RUBY"

"Ruby" is a 13" bear, created from a recycled dyed nutria fur coat.  This unusual fur was dyed a deep cranberry color by the furrier.  She is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Ruby" has matching dark red suede paw pads, and a hand-embroidered dark red Perle cotton nose.  She has imported black glass eyes.  She wears a beautiful iridescent moire ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"Ruby" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"PATSY"

"Patsy" is a mohair bear designed by fellow bear artist, Cathy Swieckowski.  Cathy passed away about two years ago before she could finish it.  Her husband asked that I finish several of the bears Cathy started and left behind.

"Patsy" is 10" tall, made from a cinnamon brown sparse mohair fabric.  She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  She has matching brown suedecloth paw pads, vintage black shoebutton eyes, and a hand-embroidered dark brown Perle cotton nose.

Cathy liked to use vintage accessories with her bears, so "Patsy" wears a vintage pale blue silky ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.  She comes with a removable hang tag.

"GUNTHER the Lion"

"Gunther" is a one-of-a-kind 14" lion created from a recycled sheared mink fur coat, and a brown fox fur for his mane.  The fox fur has accents of black and beige throughout for a very unique look.  The pale beige sheared mink is very soft, a lot like sheared beaver but not as thick, because all the long guard hairs were sheared off by the furrier.

"Gunther" is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  He has matching pale beige suede paw pads, imported mauve glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.   His tail has the same fox fur on its tip.  If you look closely, you can even see a few of his horsehair whiskers.

"Gunther" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"HANK"

"Hank" is a one-of-a-kind 14" mohair bear, fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  His fur is minty green with a light chocolate brown backing.  When he is not in bright light, his fur is more of a sage green.

"Hank" has tan suede foot pads, and a hand-embroidered tan Perle cotton nose.  He has imported dark amber glass eyes.  He wears a handmade green and tan cotton and viscose fabric vest that has three metal teddy bear buttons (see close-up photo).

"Hank" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"Chilly Willy" wears a warm pullover sweater which is removeable if the weather suddenly changes.  He comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"VICTORIA"

"Victoria" rules this den like a queen!  She is beige medium sparse mohair.  "Victoria" is approximately 33" tall from head to toe, but her legs are bent and she is designed to sit, not stand.  She has black glass eyes and a hand-embroidered light brown Perle cotton nose.  She is firmly stuffed with about 4 pounds of polyester fiberfill.

"Victoria" wears an antique white cotton and lace baby's christening dress.  Her shawl is vintage and is primarily deep shades of burgundy.  She wears a cameo broach and several sets of pearl necklaces (costume jewelry).  Her antique hat is black straw accented with a dark velvet ribbon and several ostrich plumes.  She even carries a small Victorian style purse.

It was difficult to take photos of "Victoria" because of her size.  She is seen here sitting in a child's high-back rocking chair, which is NOT included.  Please feel free to request more photos or close-ups of "Victoria" and I will send them by email.

"Victoria" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

Adoption Fee:  $495.00 plus shipping to U.S. only.
