Heir Bears by Jane Woodard

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this event just to meet you!  Some of them will be dressed up in their favorite outfit, and some of them will just be themselves, with no frills, but ready to enjoy the party.

About the Artist:  I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999.  My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur.  They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren.  Recently I have added some faux fur and mohair bears to the den and they are all getting along just fine!

My bears have been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including the cover), Teddy Bear and Friends, and Teddy Bear Times magazines.  One of my bears is also the proud winner of a 2016 URSA award.

Please visit my website for more information about Heir Bears

"BEATRIX"

"Beatrix" is 20" tall (without the hat) and was created from a recycled black Persian lamb fur coat.  She is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  She has black suede paw pads, imported black glass eyes with white accents, and a hand-embroidered black Perle cotton nose.

"Beatrix" is one of the good witches (at least when we are watching!).  She wears a multi-colored, multi-textured ribbon ruff around her neck.  Her hat is handmade, trimmed with a narrow black ribbon and covered with spider webs.  Instead of a broom, she brings a fall gathering of a pumpkin, an acorn, some berries and a few colorful leaves.

"Beatrix" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"ASHLEY"

"Ashley" is One-of-a-Kind, created from a cross mink fur coat.  Cross mink is an unusual fur, and is considered a luxury fur.  It has a silvery white undercoat with black accents and subtle black stripes running throughout.

"Ashley" is 13" tall, fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  She has black suede paw pads, imported black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered black Perle cotton nose.  "Ashley" is wearing a handmade black velvet floppy-brimmed hat trimmed with ostrich feathers and a sparkly pin on the side.  A silvery black ribbon secures her hat and ties in a bow at the side of her neck.

"Ashley" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"JULIUS"

"Julius" is a 13" lion created from hand-dyed bright orange and yellow mohair, and recycled orange Mongolian lamb fur with black tipping for the mane and tail tip.  He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Julius"
has orange suede paw pads, imported glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered black Perle cotton nose.  If you look closely, you can even see a few of his long horsehair whiskers.

"Julius" is waiting for the Trick or Treaters to come to the door so he carries a big scary black spider on a bright glittery spiderweb.  I think "Julius" may be the one who is really scared of the spider!

"Julius" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"OCTOBERFEST WILEY"

This beautiful bear was created from a recycled coyote fur coat.  He is a large 23" tall , fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  His fur has many beautiful shades of light browns and beiges, grays, gold, and a few black accents.  He has matching pumpkin-colored suede paw pads, imported dark glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered light brown Perle cotton nose.

"Wiley" is the last in a very limited edition, #2 of 3 created in this large 23" size.  His right paw pad is signed and numbered.  Today he is celebrating the month of October by wearing his green felt Bavarian hat and carrying his favorite beer stein from Heidelberg, so for the rest of the month he is known as "Octoberfest Wiley."

"Octoberfest Wiley" also wears a plaid ribbon tied in a bow around his neck.  He really doesn't like to hide his best feature, his beautiful natural fur.  Coyote fur coats are not easy to find, especially at a reasonable price, so this bear is a rarity, especially in this size!

"Octoberfest Wiley" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.
